Prof. A. Peter Johnson biography |
Professor A. Peter Johnson is professor of computational chemistry and organic
chemistry at the School of Chemistry, University of Leeds, UK. He has
extensive knowledge and experience in the following research areas: total
synthesis of natural products; development of new synthetic methods; synthesis
of designed catalysts and synthetic receptors; development of software for
structure based drug design eg SPROUT for de novo ligand design, CAESA for
estimation of synthetic accessibility; development of software for automatic
extraction of chemical information from scanned images of chemistry journals.
Prof. Johnson is author of over 100 publications and several book chapters. In
the past 30 years, apart from his academic career, he has been instrumental in
founding and also successfully growing several business entities, including
ORAC (now part of Symyx), Synopsys (now part of Accelrys), and SimBioSys.
